Church's EP title comes from its unique recording process—Kelsey Lu recorded live in a single take at the Holy Family Roman Catholic Church in Greenpoint, Brooklyn in 2016 with her cello, her voice, and her loop pedal.

For the first time since its 2016 release, Church is reissued on Strawberry Pink vinyl for the project's 10-year anniversary, with a limited edition clear flexi disc featuring a cover of "Wicked Games".
